No, I’m not about to step into the abyss of discussing religion–entire civilizations have perished over that! Besides, I did my preaching here last week. (see Christmas Shopping, etc.) The more perspicacious among you will have figured out that the topic today is Education. No sermons on that, either, just information. A friend (Thanks, John!) recently alerted me to an excellent item on YouTube, which in turn led me to seek out more of the same, and I thought it would be a good idea to share it with you. If you already are a member of TED, or are familiar with it, you can wander off and make yourself a cuppa now as this won’t be news to you. On the other hand, if you aren’t, listen up!
Before I refer you to TED, I’ll give you the reference to the youtube speech from a TED conference. The speaker is Sir Ken Robinson PhD. He’s a terrific speaker, both amusing and provacative. This will definitely be worth your time, and if it doesn’t inspire you to seek more, I’ll be surprised. So, watch this! See who he is at this site.
The “TED” referred to isn’t just about education; that was just the topic of the speech I first saw. TED offers “Riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world” online. A huge range of experts, on just about any topic, can be accessed. At least more subjects than most of us mere mortals can imagine. Technology, Entertainment, Design, Business, Science, Global Issues. What’s your passion? Check out http://www.ted.com/ http://blog.ted.com/
I’m off now. I can’t sit here and write all day…I have speeches to watch! MM
Thanks for cnotrbiuitng. It’s helped me understand the issues.
